Switching back to original HTC Android

I recently switched back to HTCs original Android version on my One S.

I did this by downloading a recent RUU file (German Forum). The Rom Update Utility is a piece of software published by HTC itself. With a few changes to the phone environment, it is possible to reinstall HTCs original Android version including HTC Sense and the ability to perform OTA updates again. After the RUU was installed I was able to perform the latest HTC update. My phone now runs Android 4.1.1 with HTC Sense 4+.

After doing the HTC stuff there were some more things to do:

Everything runs smoothly so far. I love the HTC Sense Camera and how they integrated Facebook, Calendar and Dropbox into the phone.

Sidenote: I previously ran Dark Jelly S Rom based on Cyanogen 10B23 on the phone. It was ok, but I missed some of the Sense-features. Also the battery management wasn’t as good as with the HTC original software.
